Bylaw endorsement postponed

JAKARTA: The City Council decided on Wednesday to postpone the
endorsement of the bylaw on transportation draft due to many
crucial issues, that still need to be discussed and revised.

Totok Ismunandar, a member of the steering committee for the
draft, said that the issues included the establishment of a
transportation council, traffic restrictions and the
certification of public transportation drivers.

"We need more time to discuss the issues. Therefore the
endorsement has been postponed for two or three months," he said.

The city administration had expected the endorsement of the
bylaw on transportation draft to occur on Thursday. -- JP
