Buying Pierre Cardin belt

I bought a branded Pierre Cardin belt at Matahari Galleria department store in Taman Anggrek Mall. Pierre Cardin has its own counter inside the department store. It cost me a hundred thousand something rupiah after being discounted.

After not more than a month, the belt started to disintegrate. Feeling curious, not understanding why a belt carrying the Pierre Cardin brandname would start to fall apart after less than a month of normal wear, I went back to the counter to inquire as to why and to ask for a replacement. After a month of waiting, Pierre Cardin's sales promotion girl replied that Pierre Cardin could not replace the belt without a purchase receipt, which of course I hadn't kept. Worse still, Pierre Cardin could not explain why its belt had started falling apart.

Now I am wondering whether the Pierre Cardin belt sold at a Pierre Cardin counter inside a well-known department store is an original. It is supposed to be, but why has it disintegrated so easily? I feel cheated buying a branded belt that lasted less than a month.
