Busway ticket sales reach Rp 25.1b

JAKARTA: TransJakarta busway Management head Irzal Djamal said on Thursday that the 56 buses operating along the Blok M-Kota corridor had earned the company Rp 25.1 billion (US$2.69 million) from ticket sales since services began on Jan. 15 up to Sept. 8.

He added that the busway had transported some 10.2 million passengers.

The buses can transport 60,000 passengers per day, earning the company a daily revenue of between Rp 120 million and Rp 130 million.

Irzal said the money was transferred directly to the city administration's bank account at city-run Bank DKI. -- Antara
