Busker tried for drug possession

TANGERANG (JP): The Tangerang District Court tried a street
musician on Tuesday for the illegal possession of three grams of
marijuana.

Prosecutor Nellita Ariani charged that the defendant Achmad
bin Muhatim, 23, a resident of Jl. Jambu, Buaran Indah, Tangerang
district violated Article 78 of the No. 22/1997 Antidrug Law. The
article carries a maximum punishment of 20 years in jail.

Achmad was arrested by the police during a raid in front of
Modern Land store on Jl. Sudirman on June 1. His friends who were
with him managed to escape.

Police arrested Achmad when they found three grams of
marijuana in his pocket.(41)
