Buses prepared for election exodus

JAKARTA (JP): The City Land Transportation Control Agency had provided more city buses prior to today's election.

The agency's traffic and transportation control subdivision head, Oriyanto Supardal, said the agency had provided air- conditioned buses at several terminals.

Additional PPD and Steady Safe buses were permitted to pool at Puloadung terminal, Mayang Sari buses in Kampung Rambutan terminal and Bianglala buses in Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta.

Oriyanto said people traveling, mostly to towns in Central Java, reached a peak on Sunday and Monday.

The largest increase of travelers was in Pulogadung, East Jakarta, with a 35 percent increase to 43,310 on Sunday, by 20 percent to 37,453 Monday and by 39 percent to 52,682 Tuesday. (10)
