States daily The Washington Post will clarify its own report that
implicated senior Indonesian Military officers in an attack on
Freeport mine employees in Papua province. Post lawyer Todung
Mulya Lubis said on Monday that his client had expressed regret
and would publish its clarification by Feb. 28. The clarification
article will state that further investigation by the paper did
not find substantial evidence to back up its previous report
published on Nov. 3 last year. Two Americans and an Indonesian
were murdered in the as yet unexplained ambush in August, 2002.--
