Bumiputera holds writing contest
JAKARTA: A life insurance company, AJB Bumiputera 1912, has
invited journalists, university students and the public to take
part in its scientific writing competition for 2002.
Its theme is "The Revival of Native Countrymen to Become
Rulers in their Own Country."
The competition -- which is offering the first prize-winner Rp
15 million (US$1,511) in cash and Rp 50 million in insurance --
is being held to commemorate Bumiputera's 90th anniversary.
Participating journalists are being asked to submit feature
articles, while students and the public are expected to write
essays or analysis papers.
The deadline for the articles is April 15. Articles may be
sent to Wisma Bumiputera Lt. 19 on Jl. Jend. Sudirman Kav.75,
Central Jakarta, 12910.
Bumiputera said in its release that it has disbursed claims of
up to Rp 1 trillion last year alone. -- JP
