Bukit Sentul's broken promises

We'd like to express our disappointment at having bought a house in Sentul, and especially for having experienced poor after-sales service and sales representatives who made empty promises.

On Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, my husband and I visited the after-sales service office in Sentul to ask about progress on our house. We were disappointed to discover that our house, which is supposed to be handed to us in March 2003, as stated in the contract (and even promised by the sales representatives to be completed before that date), hasn't been built. The officer on duty suggested that we file a complaint on the official complaint form and I asked PT. Bukit Sentul to contact me regarding the matter.

A few days later, without any news, we called the after-sales service office. I was told that the department head was not available, so I talked to a member of the staff, Ibu Lusi. I asked why we hadn't been informed at all that the house had not been built, that there would be a delay, and that it wouldn't be finished in March 2003. The staff answered that we would eventually have been informed about the delay when the house was supposed to have been handed to us.

We were reminded that should there be a delay, Bukit Sentul would pay the financial penalty, as stated in the contract (which we had read and understood), but in this case it was pointless because Bukit Sentul failed to show its good intention to fulfill its promise.

For only one thing does Bukit Sentul deserve a thumbs-up. The bills and those faithful calls reminding us to make our payment for the house were always on time. Once we'd paid the bill there was no more news.

At the time we signed the contract we put our trust in PT Bukit Sentul and depended on a contract that stated our house would be finished in March 2003. We have the right to an explanation of why our house has not been built, when it will be built, and when it will be completed.
