Bukaka-NEC-Sumitomo deal

JAKARTA (JP): PT Bukaka Corporindo set up a joint venture
yesterday with NEC System Integration & Construction Ltd. and
Sumitomo Corp. of Japan to develop an integrated
telecommunication system.

"We will acquire the most modern technology in integrated
telecommunication systems through this joint venture," Bukaka
chairman Fadel Muhamad said at the company's launch yesterday.

The joint venture is equally owned by the three partners.

Bukaka operates telecommunication networks in eastern
Indonesia under a 15-year contract with state-owned PT Telkom.
