JAKARTA (JP): Publicly listed engineering and design company
PT Bukaka Teknik Utama stated yesterday it got no projects
directly from the World Bank.
The company clarified its role in World Bank projects in
Indonesia after newspaper reports said the company had been
awarded several projects financed directly by the World bank.
The company said it was finalizing several big projects funded
by the World Bank through government agencies and was negotiating
with the government and private agencies for new projects.
The Jakarta Post recently reported that the company planned to
install 150,000 telephone lines in Jakarta and East Java starting
in April.
The company's investor relations manager, Elaine Eleazar, said
each telephone line would cost US$1,000. It would cost Bukaka
about US$150 million to install the lines. (09)
