Buenos Aires' Plaza de Mayo

Referring to the editorial Jakarta's Plaza de Mayo, published on Oct. 19, 1999, I would like to use this opportunity to correct a mistake.

You tried to point out the similarities between two places in the world: in front of Hotel Indonesia and Plaza de Mayo. It is necessary to clarify an important point. We have no doubt that Hotel Indonesia is located in Jakarta. However, it seems that there is some confusion about where Plaza de Mayo is located. The editorial referred to this place as "Rio de Janeiro's Plaza de Mayo".

Many people from different countries, and especially Argentineans, admire and love wholeheartedly Rio de Janeiro, but the Plaza de Mayo is not located there. If the writer wanted to state where the Plaza de Mayo is located, he should have said "Buenos Aires' Plaza de Mayo". Buenos Aires is, of course, the capital of Argentina.
