Buddhists help repair mosques

JAKARTA: The Pandita Sabha Budha Dharma Indonesia (BDI) foundation has helped Muslims in Megamendung district, Bogor to renovate nine mosques there.

BDI spokesman Parni Hadi said on Friday evening that the assistance was aimed at strengthening solidarity among Buddhists and Muslims in the district.

The foundation donated Rp 20 million to each mosque to buy building materials like paint, tiles, pipes, bricks and cement.

Tempointeractif reported that the mosques receiving the funds included Al Baroekah Mosque, Nurul Hikmah Mosque, Al Fallah Mosque and Nurul Huda Mosque. --JP
