Buari wins Matoa Invitational
JAKARTA (JP): Buari from Yani Golf Club scored one-under-par 71 on Friday to win the four-day 1999 National Matoa Invitational tournament at the Matoa golf course in Ciganjur, South Jakarta.
The 41-year-old professional golfer earned Rp 27 million (US$3253) and other daily bonuses worth Rp 1 million as he scored the best daily score in the second and the last day of the tournament. He finished with the excellent score of seven-under- par 281.
"I'm not too fit, but I putted very well which won me the points," Buari said in a press statement.
Burhan Bora from Makassar was second with four-under-par 284 while Bachtiar form Bogor Raya golf club finished third with one- over-par 288. Burhan said he had performed steadily, saying "It's very difficult to beat my senior."
The professional golfers will compete in the Anderson Consulting Golf Championship at Pondok Indah golf course in Jakarta, starting Oct. 26 to Oct 29. (ivy)
