Brittle, handle with care

JAKARTA (JP): The bodies of two workers were sent home to Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, from Malaysia in a large package labeled "Brittle handle with care" Sunday, a press report said yesterday.

The hair raising anonymous airmail package was received at 12.30 a.m. Sunday by Inaq Agus in Gunungsari subdistrict, who recognized one of the corpses as her son, Agus Saini, 20.

The package was conveyed to her house by a man who introduced himself as Dahri, one of the deceased's fellow workers from Central Lombok, who claimed he did not know the contents of package nor the sender but had been anonymously paid in Malaysia for the delivery.

The other body has yet to be formally identified. Both corpses had blood stains on their bodies and bruises on the heads. They were in a coffin wrapped in cardboard.

"We were surprised by the arrival of the huge package in a Kijang van in the middle of the night," the tearful Inaq told Antara.

She said she and her husband had had no idea what was in the package until it was opened.

Her daughter said she had heard her brother was involved in an accident in Malaysia on Nov. 9 but nothing had been reported to the police. (pan)
