British Embassy offers scholarships
JAKARTA: The British Embassy has offered 60 scholarships under the British Chevening Award Scheme 1998-1999 to Indonesians to study for one year at postgraduate level in the United Kingdom.
British Ambassador Robin Christopher, who launched the program recently, said: "I am pleased that we are again able to offer a substantial scholarship program for young people in Indonesia who are to be leaders of tomorrow in their various fields."
Eligible candidates for the scholarship must be less than 40 years old, already possess a bachelors degree and have top-class career prospects. They must be fluent in both spoken and written English.
Application forms are available from Yeyet Suryanti at the British Council, S. Widjojo Centre, Jl. Sudirman 71, Jakarta 12190, fax (021) 2524129. The deadline for applications is March 10.
