British businessmen to visit Indonesia

JAKARTA: A British delegation, grouped under the Indonesian- British Business Council, is scheduled to visit the nation on Nov. 22-23 to get a closer look at the business climate here and the government's plans to boost exports and investment.

The team, to be led by the British co-chairman of the Council Ian Thomas, will meet its Indonesian counterpart -- head of the British Committee at the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Maxi Gunawan -- to seek ways to improve trade relation between the two nations.

It would also meet with several Cabinet ministers, as well as leading British and Indonesian businessmen, a press statement issued by the British Embassy said.

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has repeatedly pledged that improving the business climate, which should boost export and investment, would top the list of his administration's agenda. -- JP
