BRIN Invites Public Input on the National Research Roadmap for 2026
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek) are inviting the public to provide input on the formulation of the National Strategic Research Roadmap and Agenda for the 2026 Edition.
In this regard, the two institutions are opening a public consultation forum to gather suggestions or input from stakeholders and the wider community.
“This public consultation is intended to enrich the substance of the document, strengthen the linkage between long-term strategic directions and medium-term implementation, and ensure that the national strategic research and innovation agenda is practical, collaborative, and impactful for national development,” said Deputy for Research and Innovation Policy at BRIN, Boediastoeti Ontowirjo, in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.
The preparation of this document involves a team of 279 individuals, comprising 230 experts from universities, ministries/institutions, and industry with diverse areas of expertise, as a manifestation of a multi-stakeholder approach in formulating national research and innovation directions.
“The National Strategic Research Roadmap and Agenda for the 2026 Edition is expected to serve as a common reference for ministries/institutions, universities, industry, and development partners in aligning priorities, directing research strengthening, and enhancing coordination of implementation,” she stated.
Furthermore, Boediastuti explained that the National Strategic Research Roadmap and Agenda for the 2026 Edition consists of two main complementary parts. Book 1, National Strategic Research Roadmap 2026–2045: Dynamic and Multi-Stakeholder Approach, contains the long-term national research transformation directions.
Next, Book 2, National Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda 2026–2029: Implementation Plan, translates those directions into a more detailed, measurable, and phased implementation agenda in the initial phase.
Boediastuti noted that the National Strategic Research Roadmap and Agenda Book for the 2026 Edition can be accessed via this link, and suggestions or input regarding the book can be submitted through this form until Sunday, 17 May 2026.
“Suggestions and input from stakeholders and the public are important for perfecting the National Strategic Research Roadmap and Agenda Book for the 2026 Edition,” said Boediastuti Ontowirjo.
