RI bridge team wins Aussie Open

JAKARTA: The Indonesian Bridge League champion team extended
its winning streak when it won the Australian Summer Bridge Open
tournament in Canberra, Australia.

The team, which returned to Jakarta on Thursday, was sponsored
by Djarum, comprised Ferdy Waluyan, Giovanni Watulingas, Bert
Pollil, Jeldy Yontey, Noldy George and team manager Madja Bakara,
according to a news release.

The team defeated host pair Marston and Bourke in the
tournament held from Jan. 19 to Jan. 26 and participated in by
240 teams from around the world.

Djarum will send another three pairs to take part in the ANA
Gold Coast Congress at Gold Coast, Australia, from Feb. 20
through Feb. 28. --JP
