Brazilian search

I always try to find Brazilian products imported to Indonesia. (I don't count myself, the IPTN [National Aviation Industry] guys and the footballers as Brazilian exports). I was only successful recently when I noticed a diesel engine in a Mercedes-Benz dealership with a soil filter with instructions in Portuguese. Looking closer, I noticed it had a Bosch injection pump made in Campinas-Sao Paulo. I asked if could look around and the mechanic allowed me. All the trucks had Brazilian Mercedes engines.

At that moment a big chassis of a bus pulled in. I examined it. From bumper to bumper a 'Mercedes do Brasil' bus I told the mechanic in something that resembled Indonesian.

"This is a Brazilian bus."

"Yes, Indo-Brasil," he replied.

"Indo-Brasil? What is it?"

"Indo-Brasil," he insisted pointing to the aluminum label on the differential printed Ind. Brasileira, the abbreviation of Industria Brasileira. Indo-Brasil sounds nice.

I have finally found a Brazilian product imported to Indonesia. I had troubles finding it because it is in the guts of the Mercedes-Benz trucks and buses here in Indonesia.
