Brazilian envoy hosts Nat'l Day reception
JAKARTA: Brazil's outgoing ambassador Carlos Sette Camara hosted a reception at his residence in Jakarta recently to celebrate Brazilian National Day.
Brazil's National Day falls on Sept. 7, but it is common practice in the diplomatic community to bring forward or put back national day celebrations depending on convenience. In Brazil's case, it was different.
"Our ambassador will be leaving Indonesia soon, so we combined our National Day reception and the farewell party for our ambassador," Brazilian Embassy Deputy Head of Mission Jose Soares Jr. told The Jakarta Post.
Sette Camara has been appointed Brazilian ambassador to the Philippines.
The reception was attended by Indonesian former foreign minister Ali Alatas, businesspeople, public figures and diplomats. -- JP
