Poso people begin surrendering weapons: Only 51 home-made weapons have been collected from warring factions in Poso, Central Sulawesi, since they signed the Malino Declaration on Dec. 20, local police chief Brig. Gen. Zainal Abidin Ishak said on Friday. He said the warring parties were given until Jan. 7 to give up all their weapons, otherwise they would be disarmed. --JP
