Boy gets 75 days for stealing

SURABAYA, East Java: The district court sentenced a 15 year- old boy over the weekend to 75 days in jail for stealing a bike last May.

The council of judges said in their verdict that the convict, a junior high school dropout, will return to his parents after completing his jail term instead of being adopted by the state.

"The convict will be returned to his parents because we believe he will be good under his parents' guidance. He has been straight forward and honest during the trial," the verdict said.

The convict was caught stealing a bile on Jl. Semarang in May, Antara reported. (pan)
