Bouraq opens new route

SEMARANG (JP): Private airline operator Bouraq Airlines has opened a direct flight from Semarang to Pontianak to benefit from the surge in the number of air passengers from the provincial capital of West Kalimantan.

Firmawan, spokesman for Bouraq's Semarang office, said that Bouraq used a 43-seat HS-748 plane to serve the route.

"The promotion ticket is Rp 1,014,700. The flight is at 9:00 on every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from Semarang, and at 12:00 noon from Pontianak," he said. "We flew with 25 passengers from Semarang in the first flight on April 11."

The route is so far served by Merpati but the state airline stopped at Pangakalan Bun before flying to the West Kalimantan town. (har/sur)
