Bouraq Airlines opens new route

JAKARTA: Bouraq Airlines will begin direct flights between Palu, Central Sulawesi, and Surabaya, East Java, on April 13, a company official said.

Bouraq Airlines general manager Erry Syahrizal said on Monday the new direct flight was meant to provide passengers with easy access to Surabaya.

Previously, passengers traveling from Palu to Surabaya had to transit in either Makassar, South Sulawesi, or Balikpapan, East Kalimantan.

The Palu-Surabaya route will operate seven days a week with flights at 6:15 a.m., with return tickets costing Rp 830,000 (US$97.65). All flights will be served by 110-seat Boeing 737-300 aircraft.

Bouraq Airlines is one of five carriers with a representative office in Palu. The other four carriers are CityLink, a subsidiary of state-owned Garuda Indonesia, Lion Air, Merpati and Bali Air. -- Antara
