Bosnia

I don't have sufficient words to describe the outrage and disgust I feel about the accord the Western "powers" have reached in Bosnia with Radovan Karadzic and Ratko Mladic. "Distasteful," one official said. "The only alternative available," whined another.

It is truly a dark day for civilized humanity when the most powerful group of nations on earth have to admit that they cannot bring to justice a pair of murderous criminal thugs like these two. Carl Bildt, who campaigned for the agreement, should hang his head in shame. He disgraces Sweden. The NATO leaders likewise.

They will claim that it represents a victory for diplomacy over armed conflict, or rationality over emotionalism, but they will be lying. It represents a guarantee of future war in that poor, benighted country. It represents the total abject failure of European political will.
