DENPASAR, Bali: The Bali chapter of the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) has printed 40,000 copies of the 1998 edition of The Visitor's Guide to Bali.
In cooperation with publishing company PT Media Dutaservindo, PHRI will distribute the guidebook free-of-charge to hotel and restaurant owners around the world to help promote tourism in the island resort, PHRI Bali chief I Gde Wirata said.
It book contains information on the province, including the local culture and the people's daily life.
The guidebook, which is revised annually, was first printed in 1997, with about 70,000 copies released.
"We had to reduce the number of copies of this second edition due to the soaring price of paper," Lily Miles of Media Dutaservisindo was quoted as saying by Antara yesterday.
