Book on Bahasa Indonesia

I have just finished reading a book titled Bahasa Indonesia
yang baik dan gimana gitu ... (Good Indonesian language and how,
so ...) by Lie Charlie, published by Gramedia. It contains a
number of articles, some of which were published in Kompas
between 1994 and 1999.

I found the book very interesting. I think everyone who is
interested in the Indonesian language, particularly those who
study linguistics, should read this book. High school students
might also find this book useful.

Lie Charlie writes about the use of the Indonesian language in
our daily lives in an easy-to-follow and informative manner.
Reading his writing, I feel that he is a master of socio-
linguistics.

Unfortunately, rarely have I seen Lie Charlie's articles in
Kompas or other print media since the publication of his book. I
hope he will keep writing and sharing his invaluable knowledge
with Bahasa Indonesia lovers.
