Book bazaar planned in Depok

JAKARTA (JP): A book bazaar to commemorate Independence Day is to be held in the compound of the Ramandha building, Jl. Arief Rachman Hakim, Depok, from Aug. 18 to Aug. 24.

Hundreds of local books will be displayed in the bazaar called "Gebyar Kemerdekaan".

Bambang Prakuso, spokesman for the organizing committee said yesterday that the bazaar is meant to provide books to the residents and students in Depok. "There are some universities and schools between Depok and Pasar Minggu, therefore we hold the bazaar here," Bambang said.

The bazaar is being jointly held by Ramandha Dept. Store and local publishers. (sur)
