Bomb hoax at Bidakara complex

JAKARTA: As police struggle to solve the Feb. 4 bombing at National Police Headquarters, Jakarta was haunted by a hoax bomb threat on Friday.

Oil drilling company PT Exspan Nusantara received a call about 9:10 a.m. saying a bomb was planted in its office in Bidakara Tower on Jl. Gatot Subroto, www.detik.com reported.

The company is part of the Medco group of companies owned by prominent businessman and politician Arifin Panigoro.

Quoting one of the building's telephone operators, the online news provider said that while all tenants and guests were evacuated the police bomb disposal unit combed the building but found nothing.-- JP
