Boleh Net's joint venture

JAKARTA (JP): Internet company PT Boleh Net Indonesia announced on Tuesday that it would establish a joint venture company with UIN.com from Korea to benefit from the growing demand of Internet users in Indonesia.

The company said in a statement that UIN.com would invest some Rp 1.6 billion (US$188,235) in the joint venture and would own 70 percent of its shares.

The joint venture company will provide an Internet instant messenger service.

The new service, www.bolehmessenger.com, will enable users to interact with the support of various features, such as one-to-one chatting and sending offline messages.

The company said it expected to gain a break-even point in the second year of operation.

Boleh Net said the joint venture company also planned to develop customized Internet messenger software for industries as well as provide services to educational and government institutions. (07)
