Bogor to have general hospital

BOGOR (JP): Bogor Mayoralty will build a Rp 20-billion general hospital in the Kayu Manis area of West Bogor, officials announced on Wednesday.

"The plan was officially approved by the Bogor Mayoralty Council in December and the funding will come from the 2001 local budget," Bambang Gunawan, deputy of Bogor's regional development said.

"We will hold an open bid to decide on an eligible developer," he said, adding that most hospitals in Bogor belong to institutions, such as the Indonesian Red Cross' Bogor PMI Hospital, and the Salak Army hospital.

"We want to serve people with better public health services,' he added. (21/edt)
