Bogor to get 880 public phones

BOGOR, West Java (JP): Bogor will have 880 new public phones to cope with the extra calls that will be made during Idul Fitri on Feb. 9 and Feb 10.

Noercahyo, a spokesman for the local branch of the state telecommunications firm, PT Telkom, said yesterday there would be 394 new coin phones and 486 new telephone card phones.

The largest addition would be on the road from Gadog to the mountain resort town of Puncak. Along this road 237 public phones will be added.

Telkom will install 196 new phones between the Ciawi toll gate to Lido, Cigombang. A telephone card phone will be placed at the Bogor toll gate and the rest area.

The road from Cibinong to Bogor will get 77 public phones while the road from the Ciputat area to Parung Hijau will get 132 new phones.

The new phones will bring the number of public phones in Bogor to 2,880. (24/anr)
