Bogor-N. Holland cooperation

BOGOR, West Java (JP): The Bogor Regency and the North Holland water company signed a cooperation yesterday on water supply, including water treatment.

Bogor was represented by Regent Eddy Gunardi and Daslim Saibi, the regency director of the state-owned water company, while E.G.E Vreedenburg and J.P.J Langrand represented North Holland.

The signing ceremony took place at the Bogor city hall.

Under the agreement, which will end February next year, the North Holland water company will arrange training for the Bogor water company's staff on management, operation and maintenance.

M. Basit, spokesman for the Bogor water company, said an exchange of information was included in the deal.

Bogor is striving to improve its services to the public. The rehabilitation of a water treatment plant, which had a supply capacity of 400 liters per second is underway. The project is scheduled for completion in September this year.

Bogor can now supply 650 liters of water per second to residents. Zainal Arifin, the general affairs manager of the Bogor water company said; "By September we can provide 1,050 liters of water per second." (24/sur)
