Bogor, ITB sign agreement

BOGOR (JP): The local administration has enlisted the Bandung
Institute of Technology (ITB) in its fight against such long-
standing problems as untransported garbage, pollution, traffic
jams and street vendors.

"Through this cooperation, we hope ITB can encourage people to
broaden their knowledge and understand technology," Mayor Iswara
Natanegara said after signing a 10-year cooperation agreement
with ITB, represented by rector Lilik Hendrajaya.

Lilik said the agreement was a historical moment for the
institute, which was rarely offered such opportunities.

"We offer things related to science and technology development
like design, construction, education and training, all of which
aims to improve the welfare of people," he said. (21)
