Bogor employs 116 former Kamra

BOGOR (JP): Bogor municipal administration has admitted 116 former people's security (Kamra) personnel for various jobs on a short-term contract basis only.

An assistant for administrative reform, Jani Permadi, said on Wednesday that 46 of the new recruits would be placed at the land traffic and transportation agency, 44 at the city hall as public order officers and the rest at the trade and industry agency.

The former Kamra officers are undergoing a two-day workshop until Thursday along with another 19 recruits.

There were 681 Kamra personnel in the mayoralty until the government decided to terminate their contracts on Dec. 31 last year.

Bogor Mayor Iswara Natanegara said, while opening the workshop, that the new recruits would help his administration promote public order. He said people often break regulations as they misinterpreted the reform spirit. (21)
