Body of Fahmi Ahmad yet to be repatriated

JAKARTA: Almost one week after he was killed, the government has yet to repatriate the body of Indonesian engineer Fahmi Ahmad, who was killed in an ambush in Mosul, northern Iraq, last Sunday.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Marty Natalegawa said on Friday the government was still trying to arrange to bring Fahmi's body home.

"We are still trying to find transportation to evacuate his remains from Mosul to Indonesia," Marty was quoted by Antara as saying.

He also said that according to government records, 13 Indonesian citizens were living in Iraq. --JP
