Body found on dump site

BOGOR: A 40-year-old transvestite, Roup alias Lilis, was found murdered about midnight on Monday on Hotel Salak's dump site on Jl. Gedung Sawah.

The victim had been stabbed several times. Central Bogor Police have not identified a suspect, but they believe the killing may have been a bungled robbery.

His nephew, Budi Setiawan, said on Tuesday at PMI Hospital the family had unsuccessfully tried to prevent Lilis going out late at night.

Budi said police had told him they wanted to interview Lilis' friend, Deborah, over the murder.

Lilis older sister, Asiah, said the victim began to hang around in front of Hotel Salak last year, after her beauty parlor went bankrupt.-- JP
