Boat accident kills 15

KENDARI, Southeast Sulawesi: A passenger boat has capsized in
Wakatobi regency waters, Southeast Sulawesi province, leaving 15
people dead, the majority of them children. Three passengers were
still missing on Monday while 34 people on board survived.

Rocky Ashikin, the chief of the search and rescue team, said the
boat was on its way from Batu Atas Island to Baubau regency here
when gale force winds hit the boat on Saturday. All the
passengers were Batu Atas Island residents. -- JP
