BNI to extend more credits

JAKARTA (JP): Publicly listed Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) plans to extend Rp 6 trillion (about US$645 million) in new loans next year, bank president Saifuddien Hasan said Monday.

Saifuddien said credit extended this year amounted to some Rp 4.5 trillion.

He said most of the credits would be given to small and medium size enterprises.

The reduction of the bank's loan exposure to the corporate sector is part of the business plan formulated before the completion of the BNI recapitalization program in June. (hen)
