BNI opens retail center

JAKARTA (JP): State Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) has officially
launched a retail business service center located at the bank's
Jakarta Kota branch.

"We want to be a universal bank with retail business as part
of our focus in our credit portfolio," the bank said in a
statement.

It said the bank was currently restructuring its operation and
would proceed with opening consumer loan centers, small business
centers and clearing centers in 18 major cities in Indonesia.

The move would improve the bank's customer service, it added.
