Biting back in Medan

MEDAN, North Sumatra (JP): A 58-year-old mother, identified only as Tbs, and two of her children, aged 32 and 21, have been taken to court for a biting attack on their neighbor.

Their 45-year-old neighbor, Dohar br. Tobing, was bitten repeatedly by the three after Tobing's daughter allegedly said that Tbs's youngest daughter was no longer a virgin, Antara reported. Tobing was knocked to the ground and bitten on her arms and body.

"The victim sustained bruises and bite wounds all over her body," said prosecutor Edward Sianturi in court here on Tuesday.

"The fight was truly unfair. It was an assault on a mother of five by a big woman helped by two of her children," he said.

Tbs and her two children were charged with maltreatment and face up to two years in prison or a fine of Rp 4,500 (about US$2). (pan)
