Bira almost doubles profit
JAKARTA (JP): The publicly-listed Bank Bira yesterday announced a net profit of Rp 13.35 billion (US$5.6 million) for the first six months of this year, up by 95 percent from the same period of last year.
Earnings per share increased to Rp 167 in the first six months of this year from Rp 114 in the same period of last year.
The bank, which was listed on the Jakarta Stock Exchange in July last year, recorded total assets of Rp 1.3 trillion as of June 30, up from Rp 732.5 million registered as of June 30, 1994.
Up to June, the bank extended total credits of Rp 1.2 trillion, as compared to Rp 572.4 billion for the same month of last year.
The deposits collected by the bank as of June stood at Rp 1.1 trillion. (rid)
