Billboard tender put off

JAKARTA (JP): The City Administration was forced to put off its plan to auction a billboard spot on Tuesday as advertising companies complained about the high rental fee.

Three companies: PT Nindotama Kharisma, PT Rainbow Cipta Utama, and PT Duta Sena Muda Perkasa, objected to the rental fee, which was set for Rp 1.2 billion for a spot for a two-month period.

The meeting was held to bid for a spot for a billboard located on Jl. Tanjung Karang, near the Hotel Indonesia traffic circle in Central Jakarta.

Nuke Maya Safira of the Indonesian Outdoor Media Association (AMLI) told reporters after the meeting that the administration has promised to reconsider the fee and set a new tender session.

City Bylaw No. 8/1998 stipulates that the city administration has the authority to organize a tender on a billboard construction's spot.

The authorities were not available for any comment. (04)
