BI submits two bank cases to police

JAKARTA (JP): Bank Indonesian (BI) has submitted two banking corruption cases to the National Police to be followed up, the central bank spokesman Halim Alamsyah said on Friday.

Halim said in a statement that the cases involved one commercial bank and one secondary bank (BPR), but he did not identify them.

Based on its investigation, the central bank suspected that the two banks had allegedly breached the minimum lending limit rules and misused funds for "personal benefit."

The submission of the cases to the National Police was carried out after a joint meeting between BI, the Attorney General's Office and the National Police on April 27.(emf)
