BI governor must be responsible

One of The Jakarta Post's headlines on Dec. 30, 1997, was Ex BI directors formally charged. So far, only three of four removed directors have been questioned by police because the fourth one was still in Australia. I don't know how many directors are on Bank Indonesia's payroll.

I think there is something wrong with this bank's management. Organizationally, the last person that should be held responsible for malpractice is the governor of the bank, who is the top manager.

To demonstrate to the people and the international community that he is responsible and also has a moral obligation, it would be better if he files his resignation with the President. By so doing, Indonesians will respect him and perhaps our rupiah will strengthen.
