Hubby hates Madonna's saucy tops

LONDON: Madonna's husband, British film director Guy Ritchie, says he hates it when his wife wears revealing, see-through T- shirts.

"He doesn't want anyone to see my raspberries," the American superstar told BBC Radio One in a rare interview on Thursday.

Madonna said he told her to cover up and she obeyed "unless I'm crunched for time."

But surely one of the world's most famous pop stars and fashion icons can dress as she likes?

"Sometimes I do. I have to pick and choose my battles. He doesn't want me to dress like an old slapper! -- those are his words," the 43-year-old Madonna said.

Madonna, who married the 33-year-old director of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels in a fairytale Scottish castle in December last year, admitted to a few marital niggles.

"He hates it that I remember everything and he forgets everything. I'm very punctual and he's very unpunctual," she said.

Madonna confessed that her most expensive fashion item was a 12,000 pound sterling (US$16,980) Fendi bag.

"It's just an aubergine-colored alligator bag. It's gorgeous," she said. "Fendi is obscenely expensive but I figure that is the kind of thing that will last forever."

The singer, who also found screen fame as Evita, was asked which would mean most to her -- an Oscar for best original song or for best actress?

"Best actress -- because I've won so many awards for music," Madonna replied. -- Reuters

KD yearns to emulate Madonna (if insufficient space)

JAKARTA: Noted Indonesian singer and actress Krisdayanti expressed hopes of becoming like famous pop star Madonna.

"I want to be like Madonna. She has her own label, Maverick, and has managed to bring her juniors up to international level. I really want to do that for my juniors," she told a media conference during her Konser album, featuring the hits performed during her solo concert on Sept. 20.

"I still have many obsessions, as my fans demand musical productivity and creativity."

Her songwriter husband Anang Hermansyah, who accompanied her at the conference, said that Krisdayanti, also known as KD, had to be able to cope with the pressure.

"It depends on her mentality to accept the pressure. If she can survive for, let's say, five years, then she'll have a very long career."

Responding to Anang's comment, KD simply said, "But I'll still be your wife in five year's time, won't I?"

Spice Girls to tour 2002: Bunton

LONDON: From the mouth of "Baby Spice": the Spice Girls could go on tour next year.

Emma Bunton countered suggestions that because the Spice Girls had recently been concentrating on solo careers, they would not perform as a group again.

In an interview with the British pop magazine Smash Hits, Bunton said the four had discussed going on the road together next year.

"We've talked about touring again and it's something we'd really like to do but we have to give each other space to do our solo stuff," she told the magazine.

"It'll probably be at least another year before it happens. It'll be an amazing show, with solo stuff, Spice stuff, a really good show."

In an interview earlier this year, "Sporty Spice" Melanie Chisholm said she didn't expect to work with the other Spice Girls again. But the band's management quickly issued a statement saying she had only been referring to the immediate future and was not talking long-term. -- AP
