Betawi comedy at GKJ

Want to learn some Jakarta folklore? Then watch Komedi Betawi's performances at the Jakarta Arts Building (GKJ) on Nov. 11 and Nov. 15.

Directed by Syaiful Amri, senior Betawi artists, such as Bolot, Nori, Edi Oglek, Kubil and Madih will perform two comedy- dramas, Air Susu Dibalas Air Tuba (Milk Met With Poison) and Tuan Tanah Kedawung (Kedawung Landlord).

Air Susu is a story about powerful people and their love of money. However, real power is proven to be in God's hands.

Tuan Tanah Kedawung tells of colonial Betawi hero Samolo, who, concerned about the misery of his fellow countrymen, fought against the Dutch with with his buddy Demang Marsuli.
