Beratha to issue fuel saving policy

DENPASAR: Bali Governor Dewa Made Beratha said on Wednesday that he would soon issue a directive that would limit operations of night spots and shopping malls in Bali.

The policy was aimed at saving fuel, said the governor.

"The policy is to support the president's call for people to save more energy and money," said Beratha.

However, tourist operators in Bali have warned the governor to be prudent in formulating the policy so as not to have a negative impact on tourism.

Last year, the resort island was visited by some 1.4 million tourists. -- JP
