Benz road rocket

STUTTGART: Mercedes has finalized the design of its fastest road registrable car, the CLK GTR.

The autobahn-stormer will be produced in limited numbers this year to meet the FIA's GT1 sports car regulations. The CLK will be powered by a 450kW version of the S600's 6.0-liter V12 mounted in a midrear position.

The high development costs of the car mean all road-going versions will be available in left-hand drive only.
