Benz behemoth in production?

DETROIT: Daimler-Benz AG is becoming more serious about mass- producing a top-flight luxury car under the Mercedes-Benz Maybach brand name.

Daimler's car division chief, Juergen Hubbert, said at the show the Maybach existed so far only as a concept.

"But we are considering very concretely a move to mass production," he said.

A final decision on the Maybach model is expected by June.
